A device by which abstract colour images can be generated on a screen is described. The images can be changed, either depending on the output signal of a microphone or randomly controlled. According to the invention, the device can be equipped with a special video signal generator, which can calculate and overlay several different images, and which is expandable. The purpose of the invention is the aesthetic effect of the image on the observer.
