The invention relates to a bag-emptying apparatus, consisting of a bag support arranged in a housing, of a cutting device, of a product outflow and, if appropriate, of a filter device, which bag-emptying apparatus is characterised by a) a feed chamber provided in the housing and having a supporting grid arranged horizontally above a funnel-shaped product outflow, b) a cutting device which is arranged underneath the grid and which can be brought out of the position of rest by raising and/or, by means of the lowering of the grid, into a cutting position in which the knives of the cutting device cut into the bag resting on the grid, c) a bag-flap unit movable vertically in the direction of the grid and having two receiving frames which are pivotable perpendicularly to the cutting direction of the cutting device and on the outer limiting struts of which are arranged outwardly pivotable sickle-like prongs which penetrate into the bag when the bag-flap unit comes up against the bag located on the grid, during the rise of the bag-flap unit, with the emptying bag being taken up and being spread open, receiving frames being pivotable upwards at the cutting point about an axis lying in the cutting direction.
