For keeping magnetic tape cassettes, containers in which the magnetic tape cassettes are mounted on slides are known. Slides can be pushed in together with a magnetic tape cassette resting on them against a spring force into the container housing. Rigid lugs formed on the slide engage in the hubs of the magnetic reels in order to secure them against turning. To provide an arresting device for magnetic tape cassettes which is fixedly attached on the container, there can be pushed into a recess on the container bottom a plastic strip of flexible material, on which flexible tongues protrude perpendicularly as arresting devices.
