The internally illuminated sign-post may be used in urban traffic situations, and comprises a double-shell signboard on a support post. The shell comprises two lateral 'U' pieces which combine to form a rectangle with panels fitting in the open vertical faces. The shells unite on the post axis with pairs of half-straps combining to form collars gripping the post. The joint of the straps aligns with that of the sheels and the straps lock into the post section. The shells may be of unequal lengths with the shorter mounted slideably on a stirrup demountably fixed (14) to the associated demistraps.
