PURPOSE:To find the range of an object existing in a wide range by changing the position and the direction of an emission of an auxiliary light projecting device against an optical axis of an image forming optical system. CONSTITUTION:An auxiliary light projecting means 4 consists of an auxiliary light projecting means 4A installed in a flash device and an auxiliary light projecting means 4B installed in a body, and they project auxiliary luminous flux La, Lb to an incident luminous flux area Lf by a focus detection use optical system. The luminous flux Lb is stopped down more than the luminous flux La and projected to a narrow area. As for the device 4B, the position and the direction of an emission are changed against an optical axis Op by a projection changing means consisting of an adjusting screw and an eccentric screw, therefore, although there is a parallax between an optical measuring means and the device 4, the position where the luminous flux Lb of a detection pattern intersects with the light beam Lf can be changed along the far and near direction against the range finder. Accordingly, even if a projection angle of the detection pattern is small, the projection can be executed in a state that the luminous flux Lb from the detection pattern projected to various objects position in a wide range containing the objects positioned extending from a near part to a distant part is contained in an area to be measured of the measuring means. |
