PURPOSE:To reduce an operator's burden and to prevent an input miss by inputting the information peculiar to each peripheral equipment from the respective peripheral equipments. CONSTITUTION:When a system generating program 1 is loaded by turning on a power source of each device, the system generating program 1 checks whether each device exists or not, and reads information 6 peculiar to a peripheral equipment, which is held by connected devices (a display device 2, a keyboard 3, a printer device 4 and a floppy disk drive device 5). Subsequently, based on the information which has been read, system constituting information is generated, a control program required for each device is extracted from a system resource 7 and stored in an external storage device 8, and a system program is generated. In such a way, an operator can generate the system program without being aware of the peripheral equipment.
