PURPOSE:To readily and effectively prevent infection of plant or animal viruses by previously subjecting hands, fingers, tools, etc., to disinfecting treatment with a diluted solution of an extract solution obtained from a mycelial culture. CONSTITUTION:Basidiomycetes are inoculated into bagasse or beet cake culture medium, etc., and cultured. When mycelia attain in a full-ripe state, the resultant mycelial culture is finely pulverized and dried at about 80 deg.C temperature for 3-4 hr by through-flow drying. Water is then added to boil and simultaneously stir the resultant mixture for about 1 hr. The obtained suspension is subsequent ly filled in a filtration bag made of flannel cloth and pressure filtered to filter and degerm the resultant filtrate with a membrane filter and extract effective substances contained in the metabolites of the mycelial culture and mycelial cell sap. The above-mentioned extract solution is then diluted to previously disinfect hand and fingers and prevent plant viral infection in operation, such as fruit thinning or disbudding, in plant cultivation. The method is also effective in preventing viral infection in treatiag or nursing patients suffering from heptatitis B visruses or AIDS. |
