PURPOSE:To provide a light weight clamp by fixing the proximal ends of a pair of springs to both sides of a clamp body and forming a press projecting section elastically engaging a V-groove in an arbor on the distal end of the spring to give a tool clamping force with only a spring force. CONSTITUTION:The proximal ends of a pair of springs 2, 2 are fastened to both sides S, S of a clamp body 1 by bolts 9, 9. The spring 2 is extended for ward from the distal end of said body 1 and formed on the inside surface of the distal end with a press projecting section 3 engaged elastically with a V-shaped groove of an arbor in the position of engaging line x'-x' located by a distance D in front of the center line x-x of the arbor. The position of the engaging line x'-x' is adjusted by loosening the bolts 9 and moving the spring 2. Thus, since a force to clamp a tool 1 to the arbor is provided only by the elastic force of the spring 2, the construction of the clamp body 1 is simplified and lightened to permit advantageously an automatic high speed operation. |
