PURPOSE:To readily obtain a helical cylinder of an elegant shape by winding a beltlike material, such as sea tangle, around a winding rod of a device capable of freely regulating pitch to a wide or narrow overlap, drying the wound material with warm air and cooling the wound material. CONSTITUTION:Sea tangle and 'PUTCHIN' (ground fish meat of cod processed into the form of a thin sheet) are wetted to about 45% moisture content and cut to a prescribed length to prepare a beltlike raw material 10, which is then wound into the form of a helical cylinder around a winding rod 3 of a device capable of freely regulating pitch to a wide or narrow overlap. After completing the winding, the wound material is then dried with warm air and cooled to afford the aimed helical cylinder. |
