RCA 81,671 LINEARLY POLARIZED GRID REFLECTOR ANTENNA SYSTEM WITH IMPROVED CROSS-POLARIZATION PERFORMANCE In a spectrum reuse antenna system, a linearly polarized reflector, which includes first grid conductors arrayed to reflect signals of one linear polarization, is mounted over a second linearly polarized reflector, which includes second grid of conductors arranged to reflect signals of an orthogonal polarization. A first array of feed horns of the first polarization and a second array of feed horns of said second polarization are disposed at displaced focal points of respective reflectors. Improved rejection of cross-polarized signals at the respective arrays is achieved by providing (a) conductors comprising a third grid oriented to reflect signals of said second polarization disposed over the aperture of said first array of horns and (b) conductors of a fourth grid oriented to reflect signals of said first polarization disposed over the aperture of said second array of horns.
|
