PURPOSE:To remove completely the influence of a white void part and a black solid part between photographs of a document where the white void part and black solid part appear frequently and to enable picture quality control by removing the white void part and black solid part and affected parts before and behind them when reading image density data on a continuous gradational document such as a photograph. CONSTITUTION:The document is scanned preliminarily before a copying process to read and totalize the image density data on the document, and data which exceeds a specific upper-limit value and data which exceeds a specific lower- limit value are removed from the read data. The data which exceeds the specific upper-limit value and data which exceeds the specific lower-limit value are generally and (white data) of the white void part and data (black data) of the black solid part. Further, data right before and behind those white data and black data are removed. Namely, the data which are 60ms right before and behind the white data and black data are removed and the picture quality is controlled with the remaining data. Consequently, the influence of the white void part and black solid part is removed completely and the picture quality control is performed with true accuracy. |
