PURPOSE:To prevent generation of heat-insulating air layers due to change in the volume of a latent-heat accumulating medium and to thereby improve the heat radiating characteristics of a space-heating apparatus consisting of a container incorporating therein a latent-heat accumulating medium that reduces its volume when its phase is changed from solid to liquid, by employing such a mechanism that the bottom of the container is freely expansible. CONSTITUTION:An expansible band 6, for instance, in the form of a bellows is used at the bottom surface of an enclosed container 5 of polyethylene which incorporates therein a latent-heat accumulating medium 1 such as calcium chloride or sodium hydrogen phosphate. When the latent-heat accumulating medium 1 is converted into liquid phase by the heat of solar rays, the volume of the medium 1 is increased as shown in Fig. (a) of the drawing, and expansion of the medium 1 is absorbed through extension of the expansible band 6. On the other hand, when a negative pressure is produced in the container 5 as the phase of the medium 1 is changed from liquid to solid, the band 6 contracts and pushes the medium 1 upward in the container 5 as shown in Fig. (b). Therefore, it is enalbed to prevent generation of air layers in the container 5. |
