PURPOSE:To enable a player to vary the timbre of a musical sound to be outputted according to an input parameter for play representation by describing the algorithm of an arithmetic part by simulating the result of the simulation of the sounding mechanism of an acoustic musical instrument. CONSTITUTION:This instrument is equipped with a controller part 11 which converts arithmetic information into arithmetic part driving information and the arithmetic part 12 which composes a waveform according to algorithm obtained by simulating the sounding mechanism of the acoustic musical instrument and the arithmetic part driving information sent out of the controller part 11 and generates arithmetic data as the composition result. Then a digital analog converter 13 converts the arithmetic data generated by the arithmetic part 12 from digital to analog. The algorithm of the arithmetic part is described with the algorithm obtained by simulating the sounding mechanism of the acoustic musical instrument. Consequently, the timbre of a musical sound to be outputted can be varied according to the parameter inputted for play representation, and the musical sound of quality corresponding to the play representation can be outputted.
