PURPOSE:To improve toner fixing performance at the low-temperature start of a printer while suppressing the supply amount of electric power to a heat roller and damage due to process initialization by performing rotation control over the heat roller and a pressure roller unless set temperature is reached within a specific period. CONSTITUTION:In normal temperature environment or when operation is restarted after a temporary stop, the temperature of the heat roller 10 and pressure roller 12 reach set temperature during rotary driving or in a specific period after the rotation stop to suppress initial stress due to unnecessary roller rotation. When both rollers 10 and 12 do not reach the set temperature, on the other hand, it is considered that the printer 20 which is left in a low ambient temperature state is powered on, and those rollers 10 and 12 are brought under the rotation control a specific period later. Consequently, while the supply amount of electric power to the heat roller 10 and the damage due to process initialization are suppressed, a state wherein toner can securely be fixed even in low-temperature environment is entered in a short time and the commodity properties of the printer is improved. |
