<p>The instrument (T) has a pair of mutually pivoted levers (2,3), each having a handgrip at one end, and an elongate nose at the other end. The two elongate noses are formed with complementary recesses (13) on their inner faces to accommodate a wire inserted into an opening in the trachea. The outer faces of the two noses (7,8) are of tapered conical shape. The noses are moved apart by actuation of the handgrips.</p> |
