PURPOSE:To improve a charge and discharge cycle characteristic at the deep depth by using an Li-containing Mn oxide to be obtained by oxidation treatment of a mixture of metal Mn powder and Li or Li salt, or Mn-Li alloy powder as an active material. CONSTITUTION:A positive electrode 4 is manufactured by a method, wherein metal Mn powder, whose average grain size is less than 1mum, and Li hydroxide are taken so that the mixing ratio may be in the range Li:Mn = from 10:90 to 70:30 for being given heat oxidation treatment in dry air to be made into an active material, while a conductive agent and a binder are given to be made into a black mixture and this is pressure molded for being given agent heat treatment. This positive electrode is made to face a negative electrode 6 of an Li plate through a separator 8 consisting of a propylene-made fine-porous film, while a non-aqueous electrolyte consisting of propylene carbonate or the like is added thereto for being pressure-welded with the positive and negative electrode cans 1 and 2 made of stainless steel, whereto the collectors 5 and 7 and fixed respectively, then both cans are assembled being separated by the propylene-made insulating packing 3 in order to make a flat type secondary cell. |
