A running speed(27) and a vehicle height senser(22) supply signals to a height control operation initiator for setting a height judging time interval when the speed is higher than a set value larger than the interval. The vehicle height adjustment is stopped when a standard value has been reached. The pressure in the fluid chambers(3,5) of a suspension unit(S) is controlled using the height control initiator and stop controller (25). An advance timing device provides the next initiating signal to the hydraulic controller after a time which is shorter than the time interval for a running mode in which the vehicle is running at a speed over the set speed has elased.
