A stapler comprises a base formed with an anvil at its forward end, a frame containing a set of staples and forwardly biasing the set of staples to position the forwardmost one coincident with a staple driving aperture formed in the frame at its forward end, and a handle which is pivotally mounted on the frame on the opposite side to the base and includes an actuating piece formed at its forward end and extended downwardly from the handle. The handle is at least injection-moulded one which is integral with the actuating piece from a plastic material. The actuating piece includes a plate-shaped body in its cross section and thickwalled reinforcing portion extending along the piece.
