摘要 PURPOSE: To favorably balance return torque in a field of gravity by applying fixed force to a crank element on the opposite side to the cosine of the pivotal motion of an arm on one side of a fulcrum of an arm segment through a force booster device. CONSTITUTION: The gravity of a weight 16 at the right end of an arm 14 presses a driven wheel 38 to a rear end wall 26 of a sliding block 20, and balancing torque is given by a constant force spring 19 of a spindle 18. In this case, the moment round a pivot 44 of the arm 14 by the weight (mirror) 16 is decreased in proportion to the cosine of an angle made to the horizontal plane by the arm 14, and the moment comes to zero when the arm 14 is extended upward rectilinearly. Similarly, at first it is equal to the product of the force of the constant force spring 19 and the distance between the pivots 36, 44. The return torque applied to the driven wheel 38 is also decreased in proportion to the cosine of an angle made by the arm 14 to be balanced. Thus, in a field of gravity, the balancing suspension arm can be operated smoothly.
