PURPOSE:To increase recording capacity by forming guide grooves for laser light to a concentrical shape in the circumferential direction of a card and forming the juncture to the guide grooves to an arc shape. CONSTITUTION:The guide grooves 2 for laser light for recording and reproducing of the optical recording medium 1 having a rectangular shape are formed to the concentrical shape in the peripheral direction of the recording medium 1 and the juncture between the guide grooves in the longitudinal direction of the recording medium 1 and the guide grooves in the cross direction is formed to the arc shape. Since the deceleration and stop by the inversion of the recording medium 1 are thereby obviated, the noises and off-tracks by dust and noises are decreased and the error rate is decreased. The use of nearly the entire surface of the recording region is thereby enabled and, therefore, the recording capacity is increased. |
