PURPOSE:To obtain the subject compound without a fear of corrosion by subjecting inexpensive and readily available SiH4 with a hydrocarbon compound to hydrosilylation reaction in the presence of a catalyst consisting of a specific metal (compound). CONSTITUTION:SiH4 and a hydrocarbon compound (preferably ethylene, propylene, butene, isobutene, butadiene, styrene or acetylene) having C=C double bond and/or CidenticalC triple bond in the molecule are subjected to hydrosilylation reaction in the presence of a catalyst (preferably titanium, zirconium or vanadium) consisting of a group IIIA, IVA or VA metal of the periodic table or a catalyst containing a compound of the above-mentioned metal as a catalyst constituent component at a temperature within the range of 0-400 deg.C, preferably 50-200 deg.C to afford the aimed compound [preferably an alkylsilane or alkenylsilane expressed by the formula RnSiH4-n (n is 1-4)] having silicon- carbon bond (Si-C). |
