PURPOSE:To recover the reception timing of a reception signal stably by using a timing component measuring device so as to obtain a power of a timing component included in the reception signal and setting optimizingly the loop gain and the damping coefficient of a timing synchronizing circuit. CONSTITUTION:The controller consists of an AD converter 12, a demodulator 13, an automatic equalizer 17, a decoder 18, a timing extraction device 21, a PLL circuit 24 and a timing component measuring device 31. Then the power of the timing component 22 being an output of the timing extraction device 21 is measured by the timing component measuring device 31 and the coefficient of a loop filter 45 is controlled in response to the measured power. Thus, the loop gain and the damping coefficient of a timing synchronizing circuit are set optimizingly. Then the reception timing of the reception signal is recovered stably. |
