<p>PURPOSE:To efficiently and stably execute the high-frequency heat treatment of a long-sized metallic material in a smaller space by pushing the long-sized metallic material placed on a guide into a high-frequency heating furnace and subjecting the material to rapid heating, then cooling the material as rapidly as possible while moving the same in a transverse direction. CONSTITUTION:The long-sized metallic pipe 1 is rapidly heated by high-frequency heating in the heating furnace 2 in an inert gas, nonoxidizing atmosphere gas or reducing atmosphere gas and is then cooled as rapidly as possible in a cooling chamber 5. The metallic pipe 1 is placed on the guide 2 and the rear end thereof is pushed into the heating furnace 2 by an insertion rod 4 made of a nonmagnetic material which is not sensitive to high frequencies in the above-mentioned high-frequency heat treatment method. This metallic pipe 1 is pushed at a specified speed into a cooling chamber 5 which is disposed on one straight line with the heating furnace 2 and is connected successively thereto. The above-mentioned metallic pipe 1 is then carried toward an outlet 10 while the metallic pipe is cooled by a cross feed mechanism 9 such as chain conveyor together with the tube guide 8.</p> |
