The invention relates to the design and production of removable frames for sifters or jiggers (shaking machines) of the cassette or cartridge type, the frames being entirely self-contained and including a device for continuously tensioning and for automatically taking up the extension of the sifting screens or sieves. The object of such frames is to decrease the time and effort currently necessary for changing sifting screens or sieves in sifters or jiggers (shaking machines), changing sifting screens or sieves in empty or spare cassettes or cartridges without stopping production, compensating, without intervention in or on the sifter for the normal extension of the sifting screens or sieves and facilitating maintenance of the sifters or jiggers (shaking machines) by virtue of their accessibility. These frames are compatible and can be fitted into any type of sifter or jigger (shaking machine) and accept any type or kind of sifting screen or sieve provided with tensioning hooks or fastening means. It is also possible to mount in these frames synthetic panels which are modular or not stretched. <IMAGE>
