PURPOSE:To attain the transmission and reception of picture information as excellent as possible in response to the idle state of a relay line rationally by allowing a line exchange to identify automatically the relay line operating state changing in real time so as to decide the bans of the output of a picture terminal equipment and informing it to the picture terminal equipment. CONSTITUTION:Relay lines corresponding to the picture compression onto plural kinds of bands of picture terminal equipments 3, 4 are selected as N, M, L,... in the narrow order of the band and the result is stored in time division electronic line exchanges 1, 2 and a control means 5 is provided. In case of sending picture information by the picture terminal equipment 3, the time division electronic line exchange 1 accommodating the terminal equipment 3 uses the control means 5 to acquire sequentially the idle relay line satisfying the relay lines N, M, L,... and the picture compression information corresponding to the number of relay lines acquired at last is informed to the picture terminal equipment 3. Thus, in the case of sending/receiving the picture information between the picture terminal equipments 3 and 4, the picture information as excellent as possible in the picture is sent/received in response to the idle state of the relay line rationally. |
