PHOTO-POLYMERIZABLE COMPOSITION

PURPOSE:To provide a photo-polymerizable composition sensitive to visible light and near infrared ray and containing an addition-polymerizable compound having ethylenic unsaturated double bond and a photo-polymerization initiator composed of a cyanine dye and a diaryl iodonium salt. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition contains (A) an addition-polymerizable compound having ethylenic unsaturated double bond (e.g. acrylic acid or ethylene glycol) and (B) a photo-polymerization initiator consisting of a combination of (a) a cyanine dye of formula I (A and B are nitrogen-containing heterocyclic ring which may have substituent; the nitrogen atom of A has positive charge; X<-> is counter anion; R is H, 1-3C alkyl or halogen; n is 0-3) having a peak absorption wavelength within 550-850nm and (b) a diaryl iodonium salt. The photo-polymerization initiator preferably further contains a compound of formula II [R1 is (substituted)phenyl; Y is O, S or -NH-].
