MONOCLONAL ANTIBODY CAPABLE OF RECOGNIZING SALMONELLAL O ANTIGEN AND DIAGNOSTIC AGENT

NEW MATERIAL:A monoclonal antibody capable of recognizing O3, O7, O8, O9, O13, O6, 14, O15 or O46 antigen of salmonellal bacteria. USE:A reagent for detecting salmonellal bacteria and diagnostic agent for typhoid, food intoxication, etc. PREPARATION:For example, dead salmonellal bacteria are administered to immunize BALB/c mouse. After additional immunization, splenic cells are collected, fused to mouse myelomatous cells and then cultured in an HAT culture medium to provide a hybridoma. The resultant hybridoma is subsequently screened to select a clone capable of producing an antibody reactive with salmonellal O antigen. The resultant clone is then monocloned by a limiting dilution method, etc., and the obtained monocloned antibody is cultured to afford the aimed monoclonal antibody.
