The mechanism provides conjoint movement of two panels of a gate or door which are opening and closing in a single movement. The mechanism includes for each panel, two cables (14A, 14B) or (14'A, 14'B) one displacing the panel in one sense, and the other to displace it in the opposite sense, depending on the sense of movement of the two cables. The cables are attached to two arms of a common crossbar (19A, 19B), which is driven by an electric motor in response to commands to open or close the gate. The crossbar actuates a limit switch (20A, 20B) which interrupts the supply to the motor when the gate is fully opened or closed. ADVANTAGE - Simple cable-operated mechanism allows manual operation of the gate in event of supply failure, with automatic stopping if obstacle is encountered. |
