The chamber is of rectangular shape having transverse walls (2,4) on which are arranged a source of electromagnetic illuminations (3,3A). It has longitudinal lateral walls (5), a floor (6) and a roof. The six walls are carpeted with absorbent elements (8,9) so as to define a quiet echo free zone (10,10',10'') designed to receive a test specimen. At least one of the transversal walls (2,4) is mounted at least in part with an adjoining part (6A) of the longitudinal wall of the floor on a turnstile (12) whose vertical axis carries at least a second vertical wall (2A) near to which is arranged second source of illumination. The turnstile is adapted so as to present with respect to the chamber interior the second vertical wall as well as the transversal wall (2). USE/ADVANTAGE - For determination of radiation or gain of radar aerial. Can use several operating modes whilst conserving for each mode characteristics and performance of mono-mode chamber.
