A post (5) which supports a horizontal beam, is mounted on a square plate (4) which is supported on a rectangular plate (1). This rectangular plate has four prongs (2) made of angle section projecting at right angles from its undersurface. The upper surface of the plate has two diametrically opposite integrally formed claws (3) which are aligned with the centre of the plate. The distance (D) between the tips of these claws is slightly greater than the length of the side (d) of the square plate (4) on which the post (5) is mounted. The distance between the inner vertical surfaces of the claws is slightly greater than the diagonal of the square plate. USE - Support for posts for beams.
