PURPOSE:To secure an opening of a grille slit in breaking snow ice sticking to this grille slit by making an ice breaking member provided with a push-up plate retractable through the grille slit. CONSTITUTION:An ice breaking member 4 with plural pieces of push-up plates 6 is installed at the backside of a cowl top grille 2. Each push-up plate 6 is formed into such size as making itself retractable in a grille slit. The ice breaking member 4 is constituted to be movable up and down by a driving mechanism 8 which consists of a motor 9 and a toggle link 10 connected to a drive shaft 9a of this motor 9 and a bracket 5a at the underside of a base plate 5. Consequently, if the motor is driven, the ice breaking member 4 moves up and down by operation of this toggle link 10 and thereby each push-up plate 6 is projected or retracted through the grille slits 3. With this constitution, snow ice sticking to the grille slit is broken so that an opening of the grille slit is secured. |
