<p>An overlay driven display system (10) incorporating a digitizer tablet (12, 14) and a stylus (16) for providing coordinate signals to a computer (26) which signals are representative of the coordinates (X, Y) of any point on the tablet selected by the position of the stylus (16) on the tablet (12, 14). The computer (26) is coupled to a display device (28) for displaying addressed data. An overlay (40) is randomly positionable on the digitizer tablet (12, 14). Three triangularly positioned points (1, 2, 3) on the overlay (40) identify a unique triangle which relates the overlay (40) to a unique computer file. Software is provided for translating the overlay points to the coordinate system (X, Y) of the digitizer tablet (12, 14) and for scaling the points to match the coordinate system (X, Y) of the digitizer tablet (12, 14) such that the file corresponding to the overlay (40) is accessed and areas on the overlay (40), when selected by the stylus (16), are displayed on a CRT. Overlapping of overlays (40) is permitted to display a plurality of files.</p> |
