PURPOSE:To decrease the leakage of a developer by forming the developing device in such a manner that the degraded elasticity of a foamed material or flocked material is made up by the elasticity of an elastic material stuck to the rear surface even if the elasticity of said material is degraded by hardening occurring in clogging with the developer. CONSTITUTION:A sealing member of the developing device is made into the construction in which the elastic material 5 is stuck to the side of the foamed material or flocked material 4 opposite to the surface to come into contact with a developing sleeve 1, i.e., the rear surface. The contact surface of the foamed material or flocked material 4 is, therefore, brought into tight contact with the surface of the developing sleeve at all times by the material 5 even if the degradation in the elasticity of the foamed material or flocked material is resulted from the generation of the clogging in the small pores of the foamed material or the fine gaps of the flocked material by the intrusion of the developer between the sleeve 1 and the foamed material or flocked material 4 by rotation of the sleeve 1 and the gradual hardening of such developer. The leakage of the developer is thereby extremely decreased. |
