PURPOSE:To reduce the inertial mass and improve responsiveness by transferring the movement of a drive spool to a poppet valve via an incompressible fluid in a device injecting fuel together with air when the poppet valve is opened. CONSTITUTION:Multiple cylinder sections 2A and 2B are formed on the overhead section and the uppermost section of a nozzle section respectively in the main body of a fuel injection device 1, a communication chamber 31 communicating cylinder sections 2A and 2B to each other is formed. A fuel passage 34 branched from a fuel feed passage 33 is connected to the communication chamber 31 via an orifice 35. A drive spool 32 slidably stored in the cylinder section 2B is pushed down by a solenoid 36, thereby the pressure of the communication chamber 31 is increased, a driven spool 24 slidably stored in the cylinder section 2A is pushed down to open a poppet valve 23. The fuel which is an incompressible fluid is fed between the spools 32 and 24, thus the inertial mass is reduced. |
