PURPOSE:To prevent misregistration in printing and to improve printing accuracy by disposing a sensor between a positioning member and a transfer device and lengthening a distance where a sheet travels from the sensor to the transfer device rather than a distance where an electrostatic latent image moves from a position in which it is formed to the transfer device. CONSTITUTION:The sensor 5 detecting the travel of the sheet 4 is disposed between the positioning member 6 for the sheet 4 and the transfer device 3. The distance LA where the sheet 4 travels from the sensor 5 to the transfer device 3 is made longer than the distance LB where an electrostatic latent image moves from the position in which it is formed to the transfer device 3. Compared to a conventional machine, the sensor 5 and the positioning member 6 reverse. Only when the sheet 4 is sent from the positioning member 6, a signal is transmitted to a controller 7, and moreover after the sheet 4 surely reaches the transfer device 3, transfer is started. Thus, misregistration never occurs in transfer and correct printing can be performed. |
