A water guiding device of a flow heater is intended to smooth out the effects of temperature peaks in the flow of water, without cooled water being added to the flow of water. In order to achieve this, a separator (6) divides the flow of water into at least two substreams (V1, V2). A water guiding chamber (7, 8) is arranged downstream of the separator (6) for each substream (V1, V2). The water guiding chambers (7, 8) open out into a collector (9).
