In a hair-ferrule magazine (1), hair ferrules (3) are introduced into correspondingly arranged openings (2). Subsequently, a number of prefabricated hair bundles (13) is inserted into a hair-bundle magazine (10), into openings (13) provided therefor. Via guide bolts (11) and guide bores (8), the hair-bundle magazine (10) is arranged above the hair-ferrule magazine (1) in such a manner that the openings (12) of the hair-bundle magazine (10) stand centrally above the hair-ferrule openings. With the aid of pins (22) which are arranged with a mounting plate (20), the hair bundles (13) are inserted into the hair ferrules (3) so far that the hair-bundle tips project for a predetermined length (L) beyond the bottom of the hair-ferrule magazine (1). After the mounting plate (20) and the hair-bundle magazine (10) have been removed, a predetermined amount of adhesive is introduced for each hair ferrule (3). After the adhesive has set, the hair ferrules (3) are removed from the hair-ferrule magazine (1). <IMAGE>
