An apparatus serves for thermoforming stackable pallets (30), which have a base (31) and walls (32) which slope at an angle ( alpha ) with respect to the vertical and run out at their upper edge into a shoulder (33) as a ledge for the base of a further pallet located above. The apparatus has an at least approximately cuboidal mould (40), the surface of which has a shape (44) complimentary to the interior of the pallet (30). Also provided are means (43) for slipping over and holding down a softened plastic sheet (42) on the mould (40). In order to increase the width by which the base (30) of an upper pallet stands on the shoulder (33) of the next-lower pallet, the mould (40) is provided at its upper edges with sill-like projecting bars (50) for forming undercut beads (35) on the edge of the base (31). The bars (50) can be swivelled about spindles (51), parallel to their longitudinal extent, in such a way that when moulding the pallets (30) the bars (50) are swivelled and slide out of the undercuts (36) (Fig. 5). <IMAGE>
