摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To prevent the unnecessary decrease of a supercharging pressure during the starting of an engine by a method wherein when an intake air temperature on the downstream side of an intercooler is below a set value and the number of revolutions of an engine exceeds a set value, a variable volume part is controlled so that a supercharging pressure is lowered. CONSTITUTION:In a variable volume turbocharger 5, exhaust gas exhausted from an engine body flows through an inlet passage 42 to an outer peripheral passage 41a. The exhaust gas, in turn, flows in an inflow passage 41b at a velocity of flow responding to the variable flow area of a gap between moving and fixed vanes 54 and 49 to rotational drive a turbine wheel 50. Through rotation of the turbine wheel 50, a compressor wheel is rotated, and intake air the pressure of which is increased occasioned by rotation of the compressor wheel is supercharged to an engine body. In this case, the moving vane 54 of a variable volume part is controlled by an actuator so that a supercharging pressure is reduced when an intake air temperature on the downstream side of an intercooler is below a set value and the number of revolutions of an engine exceeds a set value.</p>
