To produce a polyester nonwoven web membrane having outstanding properties with respect to thermal, physical and chemical stability, a broad range of application and good weldability to raw membranes, a polyester nonwoven web strip is drawn over a heated edge in such a way that a relatively denser fabric layer is situated on the nonwoven web surface having the properties of an asymmetric membrane for the microfiltration.
