<p>A multiple-ply anti-static paperboard (25) having a layer of high-carbon content fiberboard (26) sandwiched between two plies (27-27) of anti-static material, the anti-static material being an anti-static plastic or low-carbon content paperboard. Dividers (12, 13) and pads (22, 23) made of such multiple-ply paperboard (25) are used to form a plurality of walled cells (14) within a container (10), each of the cells (14) completely enclosing a packaged article (15) susceptible to electrostatic discharge. The conductive layer (26) forms a Faraday cage to electrostatically shield the packaged article, and the anti-static layer (27-27) prevents conductive dust from contacting and adversely affecting the packaged article, as well as protecting the packaged article against the generation of static electricity internally of the container.</p> |
