X-RAY APPARATUS HAVING ADJUSTABLE SLIPSHAPED COLLIMATOR

PURPOSE: To obtain an X-ray system having a collimator insusceptible to mechanical damage by providing two collimator slats turnable in the opposite directions and arranging an X-ray absorbing member on the collimator side. CONSTITUTION: A collimator 1 has a collimation shaft being driven by a motor 4 through a gear mechanism 3. Angular rotation of the shaft of motor 4 causes a collimator slat 5 to turn in the opposite direction by a predetermined angle and the X-ray absorbing edges 6 of the collimator slat are shifted to approach each other or to be separated tram each other. A spring 9 of a lock unit 7 pushes a detent 8 into one recess 10 of a fitting gear 11 fixed to one shaft of the collimator slat. Consequently, the slat 5 can occupy a large number of positions corresponding to the angular rotation of the collimation shaft 2 wit the detent 8 being engaged with the recess 10.
