PURPOSE:To obtain the good sensitivity and the sufficient exposure latitude of the photosensitive material by mixing at least two kinds of core/shell type silver halide particles having different mean particle sizes respectively in an inner latent image type silver halide emulsion and then subjecting the obtd. emulsion to a surface chemical sensitization. CONSTITUTION:The core/shell type silver halide particle comprises an inner nucleus of a silver halide which is doped with a metal ion or chemically sensitized or subjected to the both treatments, and an outer shell covering the photosensitive site of an inner nucleus, and is subjected to the surface chemical sensitization. The inner latent image type silver halide emulsion contg. the core/shell type silver halide particle is formed by mixing at least two kinds of the core/shell type silver halide particles having the different mean particle sizes respectively, and then, being subjected to the surface chemical sensitization. The preferable halogen composition of the inner latent image type and core/shell type silver halide particle is silver bromide, silver chlorobromide, silver chloride or silver iodobromide or silver iodochlorobromide with contains <=10mol.% of silver. Thus, the good sensitivity and the prescribed exposure latitude of the photosensitive material are obtd. |
