PURPOSE:To enable processing in an interference region and to improve the yield of materials by providing a detecting means for detecting the arrival of clamping mechanisms at the interference region of a processing head and retreating clamping arms from the interference region by the signal of the detecting means. CONSTITUTION:A proximity switch detects a dog and sends an interference signal to a control section when the clamping mechanism 2 approaches the interference region of the processing head. Air cylinders 8, 21 of the clamping interference region 2 and a mechanism 3 for determining the direction of the carrying in direction are thereby actuated to retreat a holder 9 and a working rod 21. The clamping arm 13 is opened vertically and is retreated from the interference region of the processing head. A reference piece 22 and a detecting piece 27 provided to the operating rod 21 and a moving rod 24 are retreated from the interference region as well. The interference with the processing head is thereby prevented and since the work is clamped by the plural clamping mechanisms 2 which do not exist in the interference region of the processing head, the possibility of the positional deviation in the work, the failure in the movement, etc., is eliminated. |
