PURPOSE:To facilitate a processing to obtain line width information after thinning a line by adding a contour line group number to each black picture element and executing a thinning line processing for picture reading data. CONSTITUTION:A contour line group preparing part 11 adds the fixed group number to the black picture element to be the boundary of the white picture element for the picture reading data, adds the different group number to the internal picture element to be the boundary for the picture element of the group number, the said operation is repeated until the internal picture element is eliminated, and a result is stored into a grouped data memory part 12. A thinning line part 13 thins the lines of the grouped data, and stores the result to a line-thinned data memory part 14. A distance calculating part 15 calculates the distance between the respective arbitrary picture elements of the line-thinned data from a white area based on the data of the grouped data memory part 12 with the use of the group number added to the line-thinned data. A line width calculating part 16 calculates the line width of each point from the distance obtained by the distance calculating part 15 and the tilt of the line. Thus, the line width information on multiple stages can be easily and accurately obtained. |
