PURPOSE:To avoid the deformation of a waveform by a method wherein an input voltage composed of a DC voltage and a pulse voltage superposed on it is applied to a step recovery diode to be reformed into an extra-short pulse voltage and the extra-short pulse voltage is applied to a light source and, at the same time, the extra- short pulse voltage is delayed by a delaying means and applied to the light source after its polarity is reversed. CONSTITUTION:As a DC voltage is applied to a step recovery diode 8 immediately after an extra-short pulse voltage is outputted, if the frequency of an input voltage is changed in a wide frequency range and the extra-short pulse voltage having an arbitrary frequency within that frequency range is outputted, the waveform of the extra-short pulse voltage is not affected by the frequency. If the extra-short pulse voltage outputted like this is applied to a driving part 3, the extra-short pulse voltage is applied to a light source 4 from the driving part 3 to generate an extra-short light pulse and the extra-short pulse voltage is delayed by a delaying means 12 and applied to the light source 4 after its polarity is reversed to avoid the relaxation oscillation of the extra-short light pulse. With this constitution, the extra-short light pulse having a frequency corresponding to the frequency of the input voltage can be steadily generated without deforming the waveform. |
