PURPOSE:To improve the safety of a battery by using diethyleneglycol -dimethylether, triethyleneglycol, or their mixture as a solvent of electrolyte and using any one of LiCF3SO3, LiPF6, LiBF4, LiAsF6 as a salt of alkali metal. CONSTITUTION:Nonaqueous electrolyte made by dissolving a solute of alkali metal salt in a solvent is used. One of organic solvents constituting the electrolyte solvent is selected out of diethyleneglycol-dimethyleter (diglime), triethyleneglycol (triglime) or their mixture. The alkali metal salt is selected one out of LiCF3SO3, LiPF6, LiBF4 and used. The diglime and triglime have the flame points of respectively 57 deg.C and 111 deg.C which are far higher than that of dimethoxyethane. On the other hand, the solute such as LiCF3SO3, LiPF6, LiBF4 poses, unlike LiClO4, no danger of explosion. This provides a battery of a higher safety. |
