PURPOSE:To always maintain the acceleration characteristic and specific fuel consumption of a vehicle in a good condition by controlling the capacity of a variable capacity compressor, which is driven by the engine of the vehicle, so as to be reduced as the change gear ratio in the transmission of the vehicle becomes higher. CONSTITUTION:A variable capacity compressor 2 as a coolant compressing means is selectively driven by an engine 1 of a vehicle. On the other hand, the change gear ratio in the transmission of the vehicle is detected by a change gear ratio detecting means 3. And the variable capacity compressor 2 is controlled by a capacity control means 4, so that the capacity is reduced as the detected change gear ratio becomes higher. Thus, the load of the variable capacity compressor 2 to an evaporator is reduced, and the acceleration characteristic and specific fuel consumption of the vehicle under a high change gear ratio in the transmission can be always maintained in a good condition. |
