The apparatus, for bending the raised flange (41) on a sheet (39) includes a support (20) for the sheet (39), a border (22) of the support (20) for resting the raised flange (41), a holding-down clamp (36) for pressing the sheet (39) onto the support (30), a plurality of slides (27) for acting on the raised flange (41) and at least one pressing ram (32) for actuating the slides (27), is characterized in that the slides (27) consist of a resilient material and are of rod-shaped design and the border (22) has guide devices for the slides. These can be curved tubes (24) in the border (22). Alternatively the guides are sloping surfaces of the border (22). The slides (27) may have profiled ends (29) to form a recess in the flange (41) or merely fold over the flange. The folding may be completed by a further ram after initial slides action. <IMAGE> |
