PURPOSE:To eliminate the clogging of a slit and consequently contrive to improve the productivity of extrusion by a method wherein extrudate is cooled rapidly by using a cooling die, which has a specified shape and through which cooling water is circulated. CONSTITUTION:A cooling die inner tube 10 having a conic head 10a is inserted in a cooling die outer tube 3 having holes 3b and 3d, which diverge like trumpet and on the outer peripheries of which cooling water circulating passages 6 and 7 are formed. The position of the inner tube 10 is controlled with a handle 14 in accordance with the thickness to be made. Kneaded material sent from a barrel 1 is straightened with a breaker plate 4 and, after that, bundled and sent in a conical gas (between the inner tube 10 and the outer tube 3), which is cooled by cooling water, and reduced in pressure together with said cooling and extruded in the tubular shape and turned into sheet by being cut open with a cutter. Since the cooling over wide range can be done at the conical gap from both sides of the inner tube 10 and the outer tube 3, the cooling of the sheet is done rapidly and firmly. |
